Chelsea Football Club may be on the verge of a coaching change, potentially before the current season concludes or during the upcoming summer break. Speculation is mounting that Cesc Fàbregas is being lined up to succeed Liam Rosenior in the dugout.
Liam Rosenior’s Struggles and the Search for a Successor
Having arrived from Strasbourg, Rosenior’s tenure has been marred by a string of disappointing results in recent weeks. This slump has fueled significant frustration among the Chelsea faithful. While nothing is official, unconfirmed reports suggest the club’s hierarchy is seriously considering Fàbregas as the man to steady the ship.
What Fàbregas Offers Stamford Bridge
The former Arsenal and Chelsea icon has earned plaudits for his impressive work with Como in Serie A. Many believe that his tactical success in Italy could be replicated at Stamford Bridge if he is handed the reins.
Fàbregas would offer a tactical evolution, bringing a “higher ceiling” regarding elite-level football intelligence. His profound grasp of midfield mechanics, combined with the mentorship he received from legendary managers at Barcelona and Chelsea, makes him an intriguing candidate for a long-term project.

The Risks of a High-Profile Appointment
Despite the excitement, hiring Fàbregas carries inherent risks. His managerial resume is still relatively brief, and transitioning to the high-pressure environment of a “Big Six” club would be a massive test of his authority and tactical flexibility.
While the situation is evolving rapidly and could mark a career-defining move for the World Cup winner, the club has yet to make an official announcement.
