The Confederation of African Football (CAF) confirmed that the ceremony will be hosted in Lagos, Nigeria, on Monday, December 7, 2026. In addition to the awards gala, the announcement highlights another major upcoming CAF event slated for Nigeria: the country is scheduled to host the CAF Ordinary General Assembly on Saturday, November 21, 2026, just weeks prior to the ceremony.

Although Lagos has been firmly established as the host city, the precise venue or facility within Lagos for the event was omitted from the initial announcement. Through these hosting duties, Nigeria appears to be strengthening its position as a central figure in African football administration – a prominent role that has occasionally been absent for one of the continent’s most decorated footballing nations.
