A Fresh Start in Serie A
Manchester United originally secured the striker from Atalanta in 2023. While he frequently showcased glimpses of his massive talent, his goal-scoring output remained inconsistent amidst a chaotic period for the Premier League club. Even though his work ethic and dedication were never in question, United chose to head in a new direction as part of an ongoing overhaul of their roster.
Now 23 years old, the Danish international brings a wealth of Premier League and continental experience back to Italy. Napoli’s management views him as a vital piece of their frontline moving forward, confident that his raw pace, physical strength, and finishing traits will keep the club contending for both the Serie A title and European silverware.
This transfer provides Højlund with the perfect opportunity to reboot his career and recapture the sensational form that previously made him one of the most coveted young prospects in world football.
